We are so excited that Justin Ryan, an exciting young man who has been with us before, is on his way to be with us for our annual GayDays concert. Justin is a wonderful, spirit-filled singer, committed to serving God and bringing praise to Jesus. Won't you invite others to come with you on Sunday evening, June 7th at 6:00 p.m. here at Joy?This is a great opportunity to invite those who might not ordinarily come to a service with you--a chance for us to reach out into the whole community and bring them a true treat. MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES AT JOY
Joy Celebration Choir--This choir sings mostly unison and 3-part anthems and practices alternate Tuesday nights at 7:00. Rehearsals are informal and fun and a good way to meet new people and make new friends. Joy Celebration Choir usually sings at the 9:30 Liturgical Service and, occasionally, at special events. No audition is required. Just show up, ready to join in fellowship and praise, learn new music, celebrate old favorites and prepare for worship.
Sing for Joy--Sing For Joy is a wonderful Praise and Worship Team that sings primarily at the 11:30 worship service. Guitars, piano, and drums make their music contemporary and worshipful. Their focus on praise and worship choruses and songs brings an emphasis on gratitude and awe to the service. They rehearse on Sunday mornings prior to the 11:30 service and welcome new members willing to commit to rehearsals. Joy Praise practices once per week as determined by the group.
Women of Spirit--all women who like to sing and can commit to rehearsals on an occasional basis are invited to join Women of Spirit. Currently, WOS sings for special services and events. WOS is looking forward to upcoming opportunities at Easter and during Second Sunday Sings events.
SECOND SUNDAY SINGS!!!!--Every Second Sunday, the Evening Worship Service at 6:00 p.m. is devoted to a special musical experience. Recent concerts and programs included “Men of Praise”, “Women of Spirit”, an Old-Fashioned Southern Gospel “Homecoming”, a full evening of Sing for Joy and our Christmas celebration. 2-3 times per year, soloists and groups from around the country present concerts and special events.
